Right,
everyone is getting in a flap about the new channel four advert for abortion. Showing women were to get safe access to abortion information and proceedures.
This I can't understand. I know some people are against abortion because of religious reasonings and other such things like morals.
But, this is 2010 folks, as far as I am concerned I believe it's a woman's right to access to this information. Just because an advert plays on a TV station does not mean everyone is going to rush out and try it. Or change their opinions on the issue.
However, if your anti abortion, do you not owe your sisters access to the right information? so they can make a choice for their bodies? There are some situations which are horrible and people find themselves alone, panicked and afraid. We should be helping. Not condoning people's behaviour and choices in life.
The women's movement is about choice. You have many. just because it's right for you or wrong for you does not mean that others shouldn't have the choice.
I'm pro giving women the chance to make the choice.
And an advert and the thousands of people going crazy over the proposed advert, is not going to change my mind about it.
The advert is already banned in Northern Ireland as it's the only part of the UK which does not allow abortion.
