Cardi B Lists Migos Top 5 Songs and Says She's Tired of Hip Hop "Bullshit"

Cardi B's personality shines in pleasant questions and answers.

Although 2018 found Cardi B consolidating its presence like never before, 2019 was a decidedly calmer moment for the New York rapper. Although his name still appeared in the press, Cardi seemed to be spending time with his family and his upcoming sophomore album. Today, Vogue stopped at Cardi's grandmother's house to ask the rapper 73 questions - no more, no less. Dressed in an elegant pajama suit, Cardi opened the door with a sleeping Kulture in her arms.

Given the fast pace of the interview, many questions are answered superficially. When asked about her fashion icons, Cardi B quickly says some groundbreaking names like Lady Gaga, Missy Elliott, Jennifer Lopez, and Rihanna. She begins to cite her most extravagant piece of wardrobe, a luxurious Hermes bag, which was presented by Offset. In an interesting twist, Cardi reveals that she wants people to ask her about trending topics in order to quench their desire for debate.

On this note, it may be fun to discuss hip-hop with her, given some of her formative influences. “Miss Elliott, I grew up listening to 50 Cent, all the stuff from Ja Rule & Murder Inc,” she reflects. "That's what I grew up listening to." Returning to some of the celebrities that surprise her, Cardi laughs at the encounters with Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna that left her almost paralyzed. Regarding his own music, Cardi promises that the next album will be both "spicy" and "controversial". However, don't expect to attack anyone, as Cardi is tired of bullshit in hip hop. “It's just tiring,” she says, rolling her eyes. "People keep trying, especially when it comes to girls in the hip hop industry."

She also takes time to list her top five Migos songs, naming “Hannah Montana”, “Versace”, “Bad And Boujee”, “Stripper Bowl” ('such an underrated song,' she says) and 'T-Shirt . Then she is asked to call Offset, who puts a double-edged sword in a question - what is Cardi's best and worst habit? “Being on the phone for thirty-five thousand hours every day,” says Offset, via FaceTime. “Her best habit is raising Kulture, she's a great mom,” replies Offset.
